The workshop will take place in the Conference Centre oft he Ruhr-University
Bochum. It is located at the main campus below the mensa.
It can be easily reached by public transport.
A limited number of parking spaces is available in the nearby P9.

Travel information
BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Bochum Central Station is served by ICE , IC , EC regional and suburban (ticket: VRR C sold
at the ticket machines at the Airport/train stations, or using the VRR app: eezy-nrw) trains at
a high frequeny. From there, you can reach us easily by taking the undergroundline
U 35 (CampusLinie) stright tot he Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), which has ist
own station named after it. The U 35 (direction Bochum Hustadt) runs at a five-
minute intervalson weekdays and takes just ten minutes to get to the university.

BY CAR
Motorists can also easily recht he RUB via the dense network of motorways in
Germany. The quickest route is via the motorwy junction Bochum/Witten where the
A43 and A44 meet. Simply take the exit Bochum-Querenburg, follow the signs
„Ruhr-University“ and then the (electronic) information boards.
Please hold in mind that at the moment streets in the Bochum area are under
construction so you need more time as usual.
BY PLANE
Three mayor airports – Frankfurt, Cologne/Bonn and Düsseldorf – are within a
reasonable distance of Bochum. Düsseldorf Airport ist he closest and most easily
accessedone: There are direct connections between the airport and Bochums ́s
main train station up to eight times per hour, and the hjourney ohly takes around
half an hour. From Frankfurt airport, you can reach Bochum within two hours by
Intercity Express Train (ICE).
Going out
If you’re looking for something to do in Bochum in the evening, we recommend the
Bermuda Triangle.

Please be aware that Februrary 4th—8th is high season of Karneval.
If you’re arriving via Düsseldorf Airport, you may come across people in fancy dress in high
spirits who will greet you with “Helau”.
Sometimes there are also “Bützchen”, a kiss on the cheek involved.
